Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) is a nonprofit conservation organization registered with the SECP and dedicated to conserving viable populations of snow leopards and other wild carnivores as an integral part of landscapes across Pakistan while improving the socioeconomic condition of the people who share the fragile mountain ecosystems with wildlife. SLF seeks applications from potential female candidates to fill the position of Enterprises Development Officer based at the Program Office, Chitral. The Snow Leopard Enterprises Program (SLEP) is a flagship initiative of SLF that offers local communities an opportunity to increase their household income in return for a commitment to snow leopard and its habitat conservation.

Snow Leopard Foundation seeks applications from potential female candidates to fill the position of Enterprises Development Officer based at the program office, Chitral. The incumbent will lead the planning, Implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the Snow Leopard Enterprises Program (SLEP) in Chitral and its expansion to other regions. She will also support the implementation of other conservation and education programs focusing on women folk undertaken by the program office. Specific tasks include the following:

  1. Led the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the SLEP in Chitral and other SLF program sites.
  2. Develop SLE as a sustainable and replicable conservation model that helps enhance the households’ livelihood and sense of stewardship for snow leopard and its ecosystem in the participating communities through market-oriented research, capacity building, identifying and testing innovative product lines.
  3. Develop product development and marketing strategy and conduct a cost-benefit analysis of all products identified.
  4. Identify product lines suitable for regional and national markets to expand the portfolio of the SLE as a sustainable conservation program model.
  5. Interact with the communities to identify suitable candidates to be trained as entrepreneurs and develop tailor-made capacity-building plans.
  6. Develop and manage product purchasing, labelling, quality control criteria and protocols.
  7. Supervise all packaging, invoicing, and shipping of products according to the deadlines agreed with donors.
  8. Keep close liaison with the producer group to ensure quality control and conduct community learning sessions.
  9. Review, improve, and revise conservation contracts with the communities in collaboration with the management.
  10. Develop technical and semi-technical reports, case studies, and press releases for the SLE program.
  11. Identify new avenues including potential funding sources for the expansion of SLE and draft proposals.
  12. Assist RPM in implementing programs, especially those concerned with the women’s folk.
  13. Participate in the baseline surveys conducted under different projects from time to time.
  14. Support (take the lead where required) the implementation of the conservation education programs in schools and communities In collaboration with other staff;
  15. Assist management in collating data and developing mid-term and annual program reports.
