Mr. Jaffar Ud Din holds degree in Masters of Science in Zoology and at current, PhD scholar in Ecology and Biodiversity Program at Institute of Biological Sciences, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Jaffar has also done graduation in education. He has over 18 years of diverse and rich experience in developing, implementation and monitoring of wildlife conservation, research, education and advocacy programs in snow leopard range in Pakistan.
Jaffar started his professional career with the Snow Leopard Trust/WWF-Pakistan in 2001. In 2010, he moved to SLF as Country Program Manager and currently working as Deputy Director in SLF, apart from managing the GEF-UNDP funded Pakistan Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Program (PSLEP) Project. He is serving as member of the IUCN Cat Specialist Group since, 2013 and elected as member of the Steering Committee of Snow Leopard Network in January 2018. He led the team as national PI who fitted the first ever GPS collar to snow leopard in Chitral Gol national Park in 2006. Jaffar specializes in program management, sustainable development, science based research and research based conservation and management of wildlife and promotion of Landscape Approach for conservation and community development.
Tayyab Shahzad is Senior Manager, Development and Monitoring, SLF. He is M.Sc (Hons) Agriculture and has 31 years’ experience of working in the development sector in Pakistan working with NGOs and projects funded by UNDP, UNICEF, Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Asian Development Bank and implemented by Ministry of Environment/ Climate Change. He assisted in drafting national policies and mobilizing resources from GEF, Adaptation Fund, Forest Carbon Partnership Facility of World Bank, UNDP, UNCCD/Global Mechanism, bilateral agencies, provincial and federal government of Pakistan and private companies. His main expertise included climate change, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, community mobilization and land use planning.
Dr. Shoaib Hameed, a wildlife ecologist with over a decade of dedicated work in the ecology and conservation of large carnivores, particularly the snow leopard, in Pakistan, stands as a significant contributor to the field. His academic journey culminated in a PhD in Zoology, specializing in Wildlife Ecology, from Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad. Dr. Hameed has led numerous research and monitoring initiatives across the challenging terrains of the Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindukush mountain ranges. His research focus is on large carnivores and mountain ungulates, underscoring his commitment to understanding and conserving these species. These works have not only enriched the scientific community but also serve as vital resources in the conservation efforts of large carnivores.
Dr. Hameed’s expertise also encompasses significant work in community engagement, particularly in the Himalayas, where he has been instrumental in community mobilization and organization. His professional experience is not confined to field research. Dr. Hameed is adept in developing grant applications, conducting media briefings, creating public awareness materials, and drafting scientific papers and technical reports, demonstrating his versatility and comprehensive skill set in the realm of wildlife conservation. Currently, Dr. Hameed is leading the implementation of a snow leopard conservation program in Kashmir. He also supports the research and communication component of the Snow Leopard Foundation.
Dr. Hussain Ali is a wildlife ecologist and conservation scientist. He has been involved in snow leopard and mountain ungulate research and conservation for over a decade, working on capacity building, research, and conservation programs. His area of expertise is carnivores and mountain ungulate ecology, population monitoring, climate change, capacity building of field and community in conservation tools and research, and community-based conservation. He is the author of twenty-three research articles published in peer-reviewed journals and two chapters in the snow leopard book.

He has been associated with the Snow Leopard Foundation since January 2015, where he currently holds the position of Manager Finance and HR.
Shahid’s key responsibilities include: Developing and managing financial systems, models, procedures, and processes. Assisting senior management in planning, monitoring financial conditions, and forecasting ongoing projects to ensure compliance with donor requirements. Preparing cash flow projections for the short, medium, and long term. Coordinating with external auditors to complete audit activities. Preparing management accounts for audit purposes. Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure. Preparing financial reports as per donor’s requirements. Corresponding and ensuring compliance with legal institutions such as SECP, FBR, EOBI, Banks, and PCP. Supervising the preparation of the salary sheet, disbursement of salaries, and distribution of salary slips to employees. Managing and overseeing employees’ advances, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
Mr. Jamiullah Khan is form Nishku, Mulkhow, a remote valley of Chitral. He has Masters in Anthropology and MPhil degree in Rural Development. Mr. Jamiullah started his career working with Wildlife Conservation Society as “Environmental Education and Gender Officer” in 2015. He joined Snow Leopard Foundation in 2019 as “Social Organizer” and now working as “Assistant Regional Program Manager”. He played a critical role in mobilizing and organizing the far flung communities of Chitral.
Mamtaz Hussain has more than ten years of experience in the development sector, specializing in communications and media management. He is skilled in serving as a spokesperson, creating effective communication strategies, producing engaging social media content, and organizing successful public relations events. Mamtaz’s background as a communication practitioner reflects his attention to detail and a strong passion for marketing. With a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Peshawar and an MA in Urdu from the University of Sargodha, he brings a highly professional approach and a dedication to excellence in communication and media management.
Kamran Ali is a development practitioner having MPhil degree in Development Studies. A lot of experience to work in community projects, with the collaboration of Civil Society and Non-Governmental Organizations. Whereas performed duties as a research assistant to properly run various projects in well reputed organizations. Having excellent analytical skills and knowledge of performing research, especially in the field of social sciences. Nazakat Din is a graduate of Per Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The focus of his interest is mainly on wildlife management, reduce human-wildlife conflict, community mobilization, protecting the snow leopard habitat which is severely threatened by climate change by implementing different intervention. Application of Geographic Information System and remote sensing in land-use change and monitoring and sustainable management forest resources.
Mr. Fahad Azam fulfills a pivotal role encompassing a range of financial and administrative functions. His responsibilities include meticulous maintenance of accounting records, encompassing payment vouchers, journal vouchers, and petty vouchers. With a keen eye for detail, he conducts data entry in accounting software and efficiently posts program office expenses and payment vouchers. Additionally, Mr. Fahad Azam plays a crucial role in maintaining organized employee and consultant files, showcasing his commitment to streamlined administrative processes.
His proficiency extends to the preparation of salary slips, contributing to the smooth functioning of payroll operations.
