Sep 6, 2024 – The Global Snow Leopard & Ecosystem Protection Program (GSLEP) wishes to announce the appointment of Sardar Muhammad Jamal Khan Leghari from Pakistan to the position of GSLEP Emissary. This momentous appointment testifies to our commitment to bringing the best snow leopard conservation practices to the global stage. The appointment of Sardar Leghari as Emissary will facilitate our capacity to address the critical issues associated with high-mountain regions by leveraging the conservation of the endangered snow leopard as a flagship species.
Sardar Muhammad Jamal Khan Leghari is a prominent personality from Pakistan, famous for his strong advocacy and protection of wildlife, particularly the snow leopard. With years of versatile experience in the political and policy-making field, his commitment to environmental conservation adds a very powerful voice toward safeguarding some of the most vulnerable ecosystems on our planet. Sardar Leghari has served at very high levels of government and in a variety of organizations that have made substantial contributions to conservation and environmental awareness. He has been to work in the majestic Himalayas, to the deserts of Baluchistan, telling with camera lenses the beauty and importance that Pakistan’s wildlife holds.
