Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) is a nonprofit conservation organization registered with the SECP and dedicated to conserving viable populations of snow leopards and other wild carnivores as an integral part of landscapes across Pakistan while improving the socioeconomic condition of the people who share the fragile mountain ecosystems with wildlife. SLF seeks applications from potential female candidates to fill the position of Enterprises Development Officer based at the Program Office, Chitral. The Snow Leopard Enterprises Program (SLEP) is a flagship initiative of SLF that offers local communities an opportunity to increase their household income in return for a commitment to snow leopard and its habitat conservation.
Snow Leopard Foundation seeks applications from potential candidates to fill the position of Social Mobilizer based at Sor Laspur, Chitral.
 

Key Responsibilities:

    Community Engagement & Mobilization:

    1. Lead community mobilization efforts, including the formation and strengthening of Snow leopard Conservation Organizations (SLCOs), with a special focus on Women SLCOs.
    2. Strengthen SLCOs by providing guidance, support, and capacity-building initiatives.
    3. Facilitate community meetings, awareness sessions, and consultations.
    4. Identify and engage with key stakeholders, including local elites, women, youth, and local political and Religious leaders.
    5. Strengthen the APEX body of SLCOs in Laspur valley

    Project Implementation:

    1. Support the implementation of project activities as per the work plan.
    2. Assist in organizing trainings, workshops, and capacity-building sessions.
    3. Monitor and report the community participation and project progress.
    4. Monitor project activities to ensure accomplish the planned objectives.
    5. Supervise the activities of Community Wildlife Guards to ensure effective watch and ward mechanism.
    6. Facilitate livestock vaccination campaigns and promote participation.
    7. Strengthen and monitor the Livestock Insurance Scheme membership and performance.

    Data Collection & Reporting:

    1. Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions as needed.
    2. Document success stories, case studies, and lessons learned.
    3. Prepare and submit regular field reports.

    Awareness Raising:

    1. Identify the educational institutions and establish nature club and carry out Environmental Education activities in the program area.
    2. Raise awareness about project objectives and conservation goals.
    3. Celebrate international Events/Specific days in project site

    Expected Deliverables:

    1. Successful implementation of Project activities.
    2. Monthly reports detailing activities, challenges, and achievements.
    3. Active participation of the community in project activities.
    4. Recommendations for improving community involvement.

    • Position is for Local, home-based with regular field visits to all SLCOs of Laspur Valley.
    • Minimum of a Master degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or Zoology.
    • 2 years of experience in community mobilization or related roles.

    Applicants having domicile of Laspur valley, especially from Sor Laspur will be given priority in hiring
