About the Organization
The Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) is a non-profit conservation organization dedicated to preserving the endangered snow leopard and its fragile ecosystem across Pakistan. Working in partnership with national and international stakeholders, SLF promotes biodiversity conservation through research, community engagement, advocacy, and sustainable development initiatives.

Position Overview
The Communication Officer will play a key role in shaping, managing, and disseminating the Foundation’s internal and external communications. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing, editing, visual storytelling, and media relations skills, along with a strategic mindset for promoting organizational impact across multiple platforms. This position is responsible for maintaining SLF’s public image, expanding its digital presence, and showcasing program achievements to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities
Content Development & Storytelling
• Develop compelling written content including feature stories, press releases, op-eds, newsletters, event reports, social media posts, and website updates.
• Document field activities, success stories, and case studies that reflect SLF’s conservation impact.
• Translate technical information into audience-friendly materials tailored for donors, stakeholders, media, and the general public.
• Write, design, and edit monthly newsletter PEAKS’ WHISPER, ensuring accuracy, creativity, and alignment with SLF branding.
Digital & Social Media Management
• Maintain and grow SLF’s presence across social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads).
• Create and schedule regular posts to highlight program activities, events, and awareness campaigns.
• Monitor engagement metrics, analyze audience behavior, and adapt strategies for improved outreach and visibility.
• Coordinate video content creation and graphic design for digital campaigns and awareness initiatives.
Media Relations & Public Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and national media.
• Coordinate press coverage for SLF events and campaigns, ensuring timely dissemination of media kits, releases, and follow-ups.
• Represent SLF at public events, seminars, and advocacy campaigns, as required.
Event Management
• Take full ownership of planning, executing, and leading all public events and outreach campaigns organized by SLF.
• Responsibilities include event coordination, agenda setting, speaker liaison, venue selection, media coverage, and post-event reporting.
• Oversee the design and production of event-specific IEC materials such as banners, brochures, standees, kits, and giveaways.
IEC Material Design & Knowledge Management
• Develop and oversee the production of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials including brochures, calendars, banners, and infographics.
• Ensure brand consistency across all materials and campaigns.
• Support the development and implementation of knowledge-sharing systems and archiving of project documents and communications outputs.
• Maintain and update the SLF website on regular basis.
Collaboration & Capacity Building
• Liaise with program teams, field offices, and partner organizations to gather content and amplify program results.
• Provide support in communication training and capacity building of staff on branding, storytelling, and media interaction.
• Contribute to proposal development, donor reporting, and communication strategies in alignment with SLF’s mission.

Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Development Studies, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in communications, media, or nonprofit/public sector engagement.
• Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills in English and Urdu.
• Strong knowledge of social media strategy and digital communication tools.
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, or equivalent design tools is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience in newsletter writing, IEC design, and media coordination preferred.
• Understanding of environmental conservation, community development, or wildlife issues is a plus.
