Vision & Mission

The Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF) is a non-profit conservation organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under Section 42 of the Companies Act 2017. The SLF aims to conserve viable populations of snow leopards and other wild carnivores as an integral part of landscapes across Pakistan while improving the economic conditions of the people who share the fragile mountain ecosystems with predators.

Working through partnerships and networks and in collaboration with government and non-government organizations at local, national, and international levels, the Foundation maintains a focus on the conservation of the mountain biodiversity and ecosystems under the umbrella of snow leopard conservation.

Inspire Pakistan to be a land where people live in harmony with wildlife, where nature is valued, conserved, and ecosystem services sustained to deliver benefits essential for all people.

Mission

Conserve the viable population of snow leopards and other wild carnivores as an integral part of landscapes across Pakistan, through a blend of innovative strategies: state-of-the-art research, community-based conservation initiatives, capacity-building programs, and educational outreach.

Board Objectives

Tolerance & Conservation Support: Enhance tolerance and build support for conserving snow leopards and other carnivores in Pakistan.

Stewardship & Management Development: Develop and promote sound stewardship of snow leopards and other carnivores through scientifically based management.

Snow Leopard Flagship Promotion: Promote the snow leopard as a flagship for the conservation of the montane wildlife of Pakistan.

Conservation Research Facilitation: Fill gaps in conservation-related information by fostering well-designed research on snow leopards and their habitats.

Public Awareness Enhancement: Enhance public awareness around snow leopard ecology and conservation.

Protected Area & Policy Support: Support the government in improving the functionality of protected areas and enabling conservation policies.
