NPM PSLEP/ Deputy Director SLF Jaffar Ud Din led the SLF team which arranged and facilitated the visit. This was followed by a visit to the snow leopard rehabilitation center and to see the captive snow leopard.
Conservator Parks and Wildlife Department Gilgit Baltistan Mahmood Ghaznavi also accompanied the delegation and briefed them about various conservation interventions in collaboration with SLF. It is pertinent to mention here that Mr. Ignacio Artaza is not only leading the UNDP-Pakistan mission which is involved in wildlife and environmental conservation projects in Pakistan but as an individual, he has a great passion for wildlife and its conservation.
He was excited to see the snow leopard at the rehabilitation center and asked a question about the captive snow leopard’s food supply and health. He told all the officials that UNDP-Pakistan will continue its support and contribution to the conservation efforts and community support initiatives.
