SLF launched storybooks with animations on Biodiversity day 2017 about the snow leopard and human conflict. The storybook titled ‘barfani cheetey se dushmani kiyu kar?’ (why make the snow leopard your enemy?), emphasized on the importance of awareness and environmental education of children. The book delivers a strong message simply and subtly. It is written by professor Zahid Baig Mirza and illustrated by Huma Wasiq, and is the first book on environmental education by SLF. The publication of more books on the same theme but different topics have been planned. These books will be distributed free-of-cost in schools in the Gilgit and Chitral region, as well as nationwide.
